**This mod was formerly named Spells Reworked – (See) Invisibility and Greater Invisibility (Invisibility Rework).

Since it now affects more than just a few spells, it has been given a more appropriate name. Enjoy!**

**

Mod Description**

Invisibility and Greater Invisibility - invisibility in general to be honest - feel really bad in Baldur's Gate 3:

It breaks from literally everything, making it feel not worth using at all. Why even waste a spell slot on it, when you can just use a Potion of Invisibility instead?

*Vanilla:

Invisibility ends early if the invisible entity attacks, casts another spell, interacts with an object, takes an action or bonus action, or is damaged.*

Additionally, becoming Wet in any kind of form also removes Invisibility..

*"Imagine countering a high level spell that distorts reality with a humble bottle of water." - ArrienOs

(This is my favourite quote from a discord member while creating this mod)*

The goal of this mod is to make highly situational spells like Faerie Fire, See Invisibility or True Seeing (from 5e Spells) less situational, making them more worthwhile when dealing with invisible enemies, instead of just throwing a bottle of water at them.

The modular parts of this mod makes adjustments for:

~~- Spells Enhanced - Invisibility and Greater Invisibility: ~~~~Invisibility (Spell) and Greater Invisibility and ~~Invisibility (Condition)

As of update 2.0, this mod now includes all spells related to invisibility!

  • [MAIN FILE] Invisibility Overhaul: Includes reworked versions of all invisibility-related spells (see details below)
  • [MAIN FILE] Spells Enhanced - See Invisibility and True Seeing: See Invisibility and True Seeing
  • [OPTIONAL FILE] Wet no longer removes Invisibility: only makes adjustments to the Wet Condition.

**📜 All adjustments to spells and conditions are properly reflected in the new descriptions and tooltips.

⬆️ Upcasting added: All Spells are now usable with spell slots up to 9th level.**

Invisibility Overhaul**

Changes to Invisibility (Conditon)

**- Taking damage no longer removes invisibility

  • moving or performing actions (like Lockpicking, disarming, dropping, dragging, picking up items or interacting with objects (such as opening doors or chests) no longer removes invisibility

- Invisibility will end if attacking or casting spells.* (throwing something counts as attacking)

*- Greater Invisibility remains while attacking or casting spells

Invisibility*****

  • now costs a BonusAction instead of an Action
  • range increased from 1,5m to **18m **(SpellAnimation adjusted to reflect these changes)
  • requires concentration (same as in vanilla)
  • duration until long rest (or until concentration is broken)
  • upcasting +1 target per spell level used

- Invisibility will end if attacking or casting spells.* (throwing something counts as attacking)*

Dispel Invisibility

After casting Invisibility on yourself or an ally, the target will receive the temporary spell Dispel Invisibility on the right side of your hotbar.

This allows you to break Invisibility since it now lasts until long rest or until you attack or cast a spell.

Invisibility is now intended as an exploration skill, allowing you to scout ahead or upcast it to position your team within enemy lines. It can also be used in combat to effectively hide your allies (even on downed ones).

*The cost changes to a BonusAction are also applied to the following items: Shifting Corpus Ring and Fetish of Callarduran Smoothhands

Greater Invisibility

  • now costs a BonusAction instead of an Action
  • range increased from 1,5m to 18m* (SpellAnimation adjusted to reflect these changes)*
  • no longer requires concentration
  • no longer requires stealth checks to maintain invisibility on performing actions
  • duration depends on spell level used (lvl4= 2 turns; lvl5= 3 turns; lvl6= 4 turns)
  • upcasting +1 duration (turn) per spell level used.** **~~Stackable duration! Multiple casts will extend the duration!

~~  Stackable duration is currently** DEACTIVATED** in v2.0.4 (for now)!

Unfortunately the prior implementation did not work with Metamagic: Extended Spell.

If you don't care about Metamagic, you can keep using v2.0.3

- Greater Invisibility remains while attacking or casting spells

Dispel Invisibility

After casting Greater Invisibility on yourself or an ally, the target will receive the temporary spell Dispel Invisibility on the right side of your hotbar.

This allows you to break Greater Invisibility before the duration ends.

Greater Invisibility is now intended as an in-combat tool to effectively hide your damage dealers, without easily breaking their invisibility. You can now attack and cast spells while invisible, for a limited but stackable duration!

**

**showcase: 'Greater Invisibility' - Invisibility does not break from damage (or water) anymore! Now you need spells like 'See Invisibility'!

**

One with Shadows **(Warlock Invocation)

  • now costs a BonusAction instead of an Action
  • Can only be used while in an obscured area
  • OncePerCombat cooldown (because every Warlock has access to this invocation)
  • works like Invisibility --> will end if attacking or casting spells
  • CHANGED: you can also move while One with Shadows is active, as any other invisibility spell

Step out of the Shadows

After casting One with Shadows, you will receive the temporary spell Step out of the Shadows on the right side of your hotbar.

This allows you to break Invisibility since it now lasts until long rest or until you attack or cast a spell.

**

**Cloak of Shadows (Monk - Way of Shadow)

- now costs a BonusAction instead of an Action

- can only be used while in an obscured area

  • OncePerTurn cooldown (OncePerTurn cooldown instead of no cooldown so you can't go invisible, attack, and then go invisible again)
  • works like Invisibility --> will end if attacking or casting spells
  • CHANGED: Invisibility is no longer lost when walking into a lightened area

Dismiss Cloak of Shadows

After casting Cloak of Shadows, you will receive the temporary spell Dismiss Cloak of Shadows on the right side of your hotbar.

This allows you to break Invisibility since it now lasts until long rest or until you attack or cast a spell.

Channel Divinity: Cloak of Shadows (Cleric - Trickery Domain)

  • still costs an Action
  • now also affects all nearby allies within 9m range, in addition to yourself
  • can only be used while in an obscured area and will only affect allies that are in an obscured area
  • now applies 2 turns of Greater Invisibility for you and all nearby allies.** **Stackable duration! Multiple casts will extend the duration!

- Greater Invisibility remains while attacking or casting spells

  • NEW: changed the SpellAnimation because the vanilla one was awful

*

showcase: Channel Divinity: Cloak of Shadows (with a new animation!)*

Umbral Shroud (Ranger - Gloom Stalker)

- now costs a BonusAction instead of an Action

- can only be used while in an obscured area

  • still has a ShortRest cooldown
  • now applies 3 turns of Greater Invisibility on yourself

- Greater Invisibility remains while attacking or casting spells

  • CHANGED: Invisibility is now removed when walking into a bright lit area

Hide in Plain Sight (Ranger - lvl10 class action)

- now costs a BonusAction instead of an Action

  • still grants a +10 bonus to Stealth Checks
  • OncePerCombat cooldown
  • works like Invisibility --> will end if attacking or casting spells
  • works exactly like One with Shadows, but can be used freely (no obscured area required)
  • CHANGED: you can also move while Hide in Plain Sight is active, as any other invisibility spell

End Camouflage

After casting Hide in Plain Sight, you will receive the temporary spell End Camouflage on the right side of your hotbar.

This allows you to break Invisibility since it now lasts until long rest or until you attack or cast a spell.

Supreme Sneak (Rogue - Thief)

- now costs a BonusAction instead of an Action

  • OncePerCombat cooldown
  • works like Invisibility --> will end if attacking or casting spells
  • works exactly like One with Shadows, but can be used freely (no obscured area required)

Reveal yourself

After casting Supreme Sneak, you will receive the temporary spell Reveal yourself on the right side of your hotbar.

This allows you to break Invisibility since it now lasts until long rest or until you attack or cast a spell.

*

showcase: Supreme Sneak + 'Reveal yourself' (cancel button for Invisibility)*

Spells Enhanced - See Invisibility and True Seeing

See Invisibility*****

  • now costs a BonusAction instead of an **Action

**- can now be cast on self and allies within a range of 9m *(in vanilla it can only be cast on self)

*- enemies need to make a DEX Saving Throw or become revealed (same as in vanilla)

  • is now unique
  • no upcasting benefits

*The cost changes to a BonusAction are also applied to the following items: Assassin of Bhaal Cowl

True Seeing*****

  • now costs a BonusAction instead of an **Action

**- can now be cast on self and allies within a range of **9m **(SpellAnimation adjusted to reflect these changes)

  • is now unique
  • no upcasting benefits

*True Seeing is an UNIMPLEMENTED SPELL in the vanilla game! You need a mod to unlock this spell, for example 5e Spells by [DiZ91891

Wet no longer removes Invisibility

Changes to Wet (Conditon)

- Receiving the Wet condition no longer removes invisibility

Compatibility** & Load Order**

Invisibility Overhaul

Load after any mod that makes changes to Invisibility, Greater Invisibility and its conditions or any of the following spells:

The adjustments to the items only refer to the magic effect of the item, fully compatible with mods that rework items.

Load this mod after** **Goon's Condition and Surface Overhaul, or the new tooltips won't display correctly and Greater Invisibility will break when dealing damage! As of v2.0.5 of my mod, it should be fully compatible with Goon's Condition and Surface Overhaul - but Goon's Library - Passives Functions Spells and More is a requirement now!

Load this mod after NPCs have Subclasses and Feats (with Sorcerers NPCs) or enemy Gloomstalker's will have a 10 turn duration of Umbral Cloak instead of 3 turns. Umbral Cloak acts like Greater Invisibility and does not break when dealing damage!

Spells Enhanced - See Invisibility and True Seeing

Load after any mod that makes changes to See Invisibility (or True Seeing), for example Spell Rebalance mods like Rebalance - Level 2 Spells.

Wet no longer removes Invisibility

Load the optional file 'Wet no longer breaks Invisibility' after any mod that makes adjustments to the Status 'WET', for example load it after Additional Spell Interactions.

Recommendations

I highly recommended to get Invisibility Rules - Movement Line Fix by PrimalFire to make invisible enemies even more of a menace.

Check out NPCs have Subclasses and Feats (with Sorcerers NPCs) so Rogue and Gloomstalker archetypes go invisibile quite frequently.

Not enough ways to remove Invisibility? Check out my other mod, Skill Actions 2 Consolidated! Use your Perception to unveil invisible enemies!

Installation

Manually drop the .pak file from the archive into the Mods folder (located at ...\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods).

Press "Save Load Order to File" and then "Export Order to Game".

Uninstallation

Can be uninstalled at any time.
